Women Cell was constituted as per the instruction of ICAR, in response to the suggestion given by the committee on "Women in Agriculture" of Department of Agriculture and Co-operation. The main objective of this cell is to give emphasis on empowerment of women farmers. Suitable integrated training courses were organized for women farmers to enhance self employment opportunities. It also mobilizes women self help groups. To create awareness about women's role in agriculture, "World Farm Women Day" is celebrated on 4th December since 1997.

Various activities were organized for the empowerment of women folks in association with the development project of women and children.

2. Group income generation programmes
3. VVV Club for farmwomen
1. Vermi compost units and kitchen garden
2. Nutrition club and diet clinics
3. Popularisation of value added products
4. Mahila samajams and Self Help Groups
5. Popularisation of drudgery reducing equipments
6. Purchased equipments for processing, packing and storage of food products.
